The BOA Symposium Colorguard Track including the Colorguard Instructor Academy is a complete colorguard summer camp experience for everyone involved in the activity. Both student and CIA areas promise a "hands-on," experience with world class instructors. Students have the opportunity to work with ensembles-in-residence top drum corps and high school colorguard instructors and performers. The curriculum also include dance and movement classes that will have your colorguard members moving with poise and self-assurance. Curriculum Basics: Equipment technique (flag, rifle or sabre), marching and maneuvering, dance and movement, video viewing and discussions, daily "show-and-tell" performances.

The FJM Clinic offers an all-inclusive curriculum for performing units. You can send all your auxiliary members to the same clinic… building pride, spirit and unity within your groups! FJM Clinics are open to elementary, high school, and college age students. You may come as a group or sign up individually. Advisors and Band Directors are also welcome to attend. The FJM Clinic staff is recruited from top college marching bands, dance lines and majorette lines. In addition, the color guard staff is recruited from top drum corps and winter guards including staff members from the Blue Devils, Emerald Marquis, Alliance of Miami, Pride of Cincinnati, St. Ann's, Cavaliers and the Phantom Regiment.

Four levels of instruction: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Super Advanced so the needs of your performers are met. Routines are created exclusively for the clinic, and we offer modern body movement technique classes and optional sabre classes as well. We provide a low student to teacher ratio for all of our clinics. Directors receive free video and audio tapes of all routines for each school! Performers also learn how to create their own routines, and there are optional motivational and leadership sessions for captains. There are group and individual evaluations and awards, plus an exciting closing ceremony and performance in Memorial Stadium! The KU Guard Camp covers all aspects of flag and rifle technique. Flag students divide into groups for Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced Flag Technique. Rifle performers have a separate class and instructor. The curriculum for the camp includes marching technique, warm-up exercises, timing exercises, fundamental flag and rifle technique, dance movement, special maneuvers, equipment and color selection, leadership techniques, and coordinating routines to music. Students should bring cassette recordings of their fall show music, if possible. All participants furnish their own guard equipment.
